OK so I know it has been a minute since I’ve posted anything in any category but here, I am. I am going to make a post a continuation of starting an online business and everything.

So, we have a workshop full of items that are almost complete. I do have a lot of them on website. Part of the idea of starting this website and starting A blog was to gain more recognition from people to get our name out there. So, I’m making an attempt to do this, and we are trying to get our product out.

There are multiple of different ways to do this, for example

1 Amazon

2 Facebook marketplace

3 Etsy

4 Walmart and the list goes on.

We currently use Amazon and Facebook marketplace. It’s pretty easy to do it; so, we’ll start with establishing on our online store and then move onto Facebook and lastly Amazon.

Setting Up Your Online Store

Establishing an online store involves several key steps, starting with the selection of a suitable e-commerce platform. Popular options include Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce, each offering unique features tailored to different business needs. Once you’ve chosen your platform, the next step is to create an account and configure your store’s settings. Designing your store is a crucial aspect of setting up your online presence. Most e-commerce platforms offer customizable themes that allow you to create a visually appealing and user-friendly website. Uploading Products to Your Online Store

Uploading products to your online store is a crucial step in ensuring a seamless shopping experience for your customers. Begin by creating detailed and compelling product listings. Facebook marketplace it’s kind of like the online version of the green sheet. That is what I think about when I go on it. There’s a little bit of everything. From cars to houses to furniture to pets to games I mean if you can imagine it, it’s there.

Expanding your reach by listing products on Facebook Marketplace can significantly boost your online store’s visibility. To begin, ensure you have a Facebook Business Page. If you haven’t set one up, navigate to the Facebook homepage and click on the “Create” button, then select “Page.” Follow the prompts to enter your business information, upload a profile picture, and cover photo.

Once your Facebook Business Page is ready, link it to your online store. This can typically be done through your e-commerce platform’s settings. For example, platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce offer direct integrations with Facebook. After linking, navigate to the Facebook Marketplace by clicking on the “Marketplace” icon on the left-hand side of your Facebook homepage.

Creating Facebook Listings

To create a new listing, click on the “Create New Listing” button. You will be prompted to choose the type of listing you want to create; select “Item for Sale.” Fill in the product details, including title, price, category, condition, and a detailed description. Upload high-quality images of your product, as visuals play a crucial role in attracting potential buyers. Ensure your images are clear, well-lit, and showcase the product from multiple angles.

Selling Products on Amazon

Listing and selling products on Amazon begins with setting up an Amazon Seller account. Prospective sellers must choose between an Individual or Professional selling plan based on their volume of sales and business model. The Individual plan is suitable for those expecting to sell fewer than 40 items per month, while the Professional plan is ideal for higher-volume sellers or those looking to access advanced selling tools and reports.

Once your account is set up, navigating Amazon Seller Central is the next step. This platform serves as the hub for managing your Amazon business, where you can create and manage product listings, track sales, and monitor performance metrics. Creating detailed and accurate product listings is crucial. Each listing should include high-quality images, clear titles, precise descriptions, and relevant keywords. Adhering to Amazon’s guidelines regarding product information and prohibited items is essential to avoid any account suspension or listing removal.

Product reviews and ratings are integral to your success on Amazon. Positive reviews can significantly enhance your product’s visibility and credibility, leading to higher sales. Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews, and always respond professionally to feedback, whether positive or negative. Addressing customer concerns promptly can help maintain a strong seller reputation.

Managing inventory effectively is another critical aspect of selling on Amazon. Keeping track of stock levels, replenishing inventory timely, and avoiding stockouts are essential to maintain consistent sales. Pricing competitively is also vital. Regularly monitor competitor prices and adjust your prices accordingly to remain attractive to potential buyers.

My Issues with Amazon Listings

The only major issue I have found with Amazon is that when I upload one of our products that has multiple variations with it. The response is that it is completed with errors. I have not taken the time to slow down and watch the tutorial or video of how to fix these issues.

It seemed like when I was going through it in a hurry to set up the account it seemed relatively simple. They will likely walk you straight through it, but I have not done that. I did however I found a slight workaround for that error if when I upload the item that has variations when I go through Amazon, I check the box saying that there aren’t any variations to this item. Amazon does not have any issues making the product go live in that way so all I must do is go through and upload each variation as an individual item.
